On 30 November, we celebrated the success of Kinderland’s graduating cohort of 270 children with parents, teachers, and partners. Held at the University Cultural Centre, National University of Singapore (NUS), the concert commenced with refreshing speeches from four valedictorians. The valedictorians illustrated their tenacity by presenting their gratitude and learnings in a language aside from their mother tongue.

The morning continued with a musical adventure reflecting the capability, diversity and creativity of Kinderland’s children. Themed Journey Through Movie Stories, the children showcased their flair in music, dance, choir, martial arts, gymnastic and speech and drama through a variety of soundtracks from movie hits.

Testifying the children’s musical skill, they took a contemporary twist on movie soundtracks with traditional musical instruments such as the Angklungs and Tone Bells. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Kinderland’s Preschool Marching Band, the Stage Band stole the show with an iconic soundtrack, Raiders March, through drums, cymbals, electronic keyboards, marimba and xylophones. Evolved from the concept of the marching band was the Kinderland’s Stage Ensemble, exhibiting the capabilities of children playing in harmony on stage drum, electons, chimes, pianica, glockenspiel.

Music has always been the essence of Kinderland’s curriculum and the benefits are aplenty. Our music-infused curriculum enhances skills required for learning such as language development, spatial-temporal adaptability and promotes cognitive and physical development which are essential in early years.

Through the speech and drama performances, children express and articulated exemplarily the essences of the movies. The gymnastics led by JACPA instructor Ms Nagomi, children also put their agility and toughness to the test.

With an endearing finale, we wish our graduates an enriching journey ahead and hope they will continue to grow into curious, determined, and future-ready individuals!
